Stand Out with Video Email

by Sue

In today’s business world we need to stand out from our competitors. Video is the fastest growing segment online. It allows you to interact in a much more personal way with your customers.

Video email is a great way for business  to do this;  let’s take a look at some stats:

Video:

  • Increases engagement time
  • Deepens emotional connection
  • And gives you trust and credibility

Video email is a very simple way for a business to use video to keep in front of their customers.

•    Video email reduces advertising cost and increases customer retention by 400%.
•    Studies show that video email reaps a 280% higher return than direct mail.
•    In a study by – Marketing Vox, results showed that 63.9% of 5,000 people watched a video sent via email to completion, compared to the average time spent on a text email – which was 8 seconds!

Using video email is fun, fast and easy.

Video email is not just for business and can have many uses on a personal level.  It is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family. Saying “happy birthday” or “congratulations on …..” is so much more personal by video email. People love it.

Just a few reasons to use video email in your business:
•    The emails have much more chance of being viewed
•    Be top of mind with your customers
•    Increase brand awareness
•    Build relationships
•    Say thanks for your business to your customers
•    Keep in touch with your suppliers

A few personal uses could be:
•    Say happy birthday
•    Tell someone you care
•    Just saying hi to a friend you have not seen for a while
•    If you work away from your partner or loved ones this is so much more personal than text
•    I am sure you can think of many uses

Sue….great post. I have been using this software for a little while myself and have definitely noticed an improved response rate from video emails over text based emails. And the iWowWe video email service is really easy to use, even for us non techies :-) Thanks for sharing.

Sue,
I’ve been using video in my business for over a year now. I saw back then that video was really going to play a big part in how people will market in the future. There are so many interesting ways to use video and as you said, it really brings the viewer (your customer) much deeper into the relationship. Using video email is such a natural step in the right direction and like you, I have found the response rate incredible. People really take notice and they hear your message.

Thanks for sharing this with everyone.

Don now I think you are a bit of a Master at video. You were one of the first people (maybe the first) who sent me a message via video email. I remember asking “how did you do that”.

I can see it is the way of the future.

Thanks for introducing it to me.

Video makes messages more intimate because we can give the messages face to face. But with the rapid development of technology nowadays I am sure that this video message soon will be replaced by holographic technology.

There is only one limitation to video email use. You and your friend/co-worker/receiver of the letter should have fast internet connection. Or you should repeat the content of the video message in written form lower the video file.

Sue June 21, 2011 at 10:54 AM

Fred I agree with you regarding fast internet. I am not sure how people survive without it :-)
I think you have good advice there though to reproduce the content in written form. This way different styles are also catered for. I know sometimes I watch a video and then want to check just one point again so if it is written as well that makes it easy.

Thanks for commenting.

I really like the idea of video email if it were only easier. All of the comments stating a higher open/click through rate definitely has got my attention, and I would like to implement this in my real estate business. We get a lot of internet buyer leads and always looking for ways to engage them and convert them to clients.

Yes I agree the open/click through rate stats are very impressive. I suggest you grab a free account and try it.

Sue,
That’s right. Videos are definitely a better medium for communication. They kind of look more authentic, than a text rich content and the inherent advantages are immense. My only concern is will people really watch a video in its entirety? But, yes this is definitely worth a try.
Thanks for sharing,

Now your name is not really Kevin Rudd is it? I am not sure where you live but the ex Prime Minister in Australia has that name.

I have a problem in using Video email. Not all email server can afford to accommodate large files and some of them have limitation. If the size limit of the server administration can be acknowledge and resolve, this is a good way to increase profit and conversion rate.
