In my last post I discussed Getting through Hard Times.
Let’s look now at bouncing back from hard times.
Bouncing Back from Hard Times
I was on a weekly webinar yesterday where our guest presenter was Kevin Knecht.
Kevin and his wife Melissa are amazing examples of bouncing back from hard times.
They were bankrupt and have gone on to achieve excellent results in their home based business in a relatively short time.
I share the webinar replay with you below.
The tips Kevin shares are not just for people who are bankrupt or necessarily starting out. They are for anyone who is not achieving the success they would like in their business.
In fact the webinar was called “How To Use Facebook To Quit Your Job, Live By The Beach and Triple Your Income This Summer!”
Kevin clearly lives in the Northern Hemisphere not in Australia like me where it is winter. 🙂
If you do not have the time to watch the replay I have summarized the points that stood out for me below.
I really encourage you to find the time if you can as he shares some real nuggets.
My Summary of this story of bouncing back from hard times
## Focus on where you are going.
In my last post I discussed this in depth and it is so important. You cannot get stuck where you are when you are in the middle of hard times. You must focus on where you are going.
The other advice here was not to share your struggle and definitely do not share it on Facebook. This is common sense for most of us but we all see the people who share their hard luck stories all over social media. Not attractive at all!
## Visualize before you materialize.
Kevin shared how he and his wife used to go to places that made them feel prosperous.
The one he shared where they went to luxury hotels to have a coffee is one my husband and I have often used.
We have started several brick and mortar businesses together. When you are starting any business there is usually some struggle.
The hotel example was something we learned to do many years back and it works. I can step into places like this and feel a million dollars.
##Accountability
I just loved how Kevin had his son as an accountability partner. How cool is that?
If you do not have kids find someone to be accountable to as it works.
I find one of the most difficult things about a home based business for me is to stay on track and on my own agenda. Having someone to be accountable to is a great solution.
## Share your vision.
People are drawn to people who have a vision.
## Surround yourself with positive people.
This one is so important and of course he also said to stay away from people who were negative and do not support your dreams. This advice is critical for your success!
## Listen to audios and read books that will stretch your mind.
I love that Kevin’s son is reading Rich Dad Poor Dad and summarizing each chapter!
If you have been reading this blog for a bit you will know I worked with Robert Kiyosaki as CEO of the office for Australia and New Zealand. I cannot tell you the number of emails and stories I have read from people who’s lives totally changed by reading this book.
So for me it is awesome to see a young boy reading it.
##Facebook Tips
There were a heap of great tips there but the ones that stood out for me are.
- Be positive and upbeat
- Use the unfriend button where necessary (I need to do more of that)
In Closing
Bouncing back from hard times is possible and Kevin and his wife are great examples. If you know anyone who is struggling please share this with them.
I would love to hear your comments below. Do you have any additional tips on bouncing back from hard times?
Please leave me your comments below and share this post. I am looking forward to what you have to say on this idea.
Make it a great day.

Hi Sue,
I like Kevin, and as you say, for his son to be receiving some of Roberts money information at a young age surely must allow his brain to think “out of the box” when he is managing his money as an young adult.
Also the other point you bring up in this post is how import an it is for us to have someone to keep us accountable. How awesome for Kevins son to be experiencing this again at such an early age
Thanks Sue
Sue Price says
Hi Di
I like Kevin too he has great energy. Oh yes being introduced to Robert at the age his son will no doubt result in out of the box thinking. Even when he goes to choose his career he has a different perspective to look at.
Accountability is important and I loved how they are doing it. A real family thing happening.
Thanks for your comment here Di.
Have a great rest of your weekend.

I also hear about lots of people who got bankrupt and then get up with some inspirational stories. We should learn from them. This article is really nice Sue.
Sue Price says
Hi Pankaj
There sure are a lot of people who have been bankrupt and gone on to do great things. Donald Trump is a very well known example too.
Thanks for visiting my blog and adding your thoughts Pankaj.

I think when hard times befall us you need to keep in perspective. The hard time is not your whole life and one needs to think about the future. I have taken to writing down all the wonderful things that I have in my life. I look at it once a week. The best advice I have is letting go of physical things that bring you down. Even cleaning out a closet is letting go of emotional burdens. Life is a journey
Sue Price says
Hi Arleen
That is a great point that what ever the hard time is about is not the whole of life. Good you write down all the good things in your life. I have gone through stages of writing down what I am grateful for each morning, That works for me.
Oh yes cleaning out the closet is a great thing to do and I need to do some of that again.
Thanks for your thoughts here Arleen.
Have a nice weekend.

Once you go through an experience like bankruptcy or near bankruptcy you work twice harder. You get highly motivated and make up for your mistakes. It is good that Kevin can really talk and share his experience. I cannot talk at ease like him and I would want to keep my past failures to myself. Well done and thanks for sharing.
Sue Price says
Hi Ali
I have seen people like Kevin who do as you say and work twice as hard and make up for the mistakes of the past. I have also seen people broken inside after losing everything and they do not move on. Kevin is an example of moving on.
I used to think it was best to keep past failures to ourselves but now I think differently. It is by speaking out that people like Kevin can inspire others to move on if they are in such a situation. It is why recovering alcoholics tell their story. It is brave but so admirable in my opinion.
Thanks for your comment Ali.

Hi Sue,
Thank you for summarizing what they shared on the webinar because I don’t have the time right now to listen to it but I do love these types of positive stories.
I hate to see anyone going through hard times but I do like to see that they have used some of these methods like the hotel example to put them in the right mindset. I know this works for me too.
You definitely have to stay positive and train your thoughts to lead you in the right direction because they definitely will and sounds like it’s worked beautifully for them too.
I love this and I appreciate you sharing this with us. Thank you so much and to theirs and your continued success.

Hi Adrienne
I did the summary because I did not expect many people to have the time to watch this video but for anyone who is in a bad place it is a great story. Kevin is also very easy to listen to and a good speaker.
Ah so you like the hotel example too. I have been doing that for a long time in different businesses when things were not flowing.
Thanks for your comment Adrienne and have a successful week.

Hi Sue,
Great article. I know I’m in the processing of building myself up again after having a take-down. It is hard and you have to get inspired. Great tips, particularly like getting the family involved.
Getting through the hard times is one of the hardest things to do.
Thanks for the pick me up.
Regards,
Barbara
Sue Price says
Hi Barbara
Oh yes you have been through a horrible experience. I think if I was in your shoes the thing I would hate most is not knowing what the heck happened. It is then that I know I go into making up reasons and that is futile.
I love how Kevin involved his son in accountability. I mostly love how both he and his wife were able to just look forward. That takes discipline and is not easy.
Thanks Barbara and big virtual hug from me to you. Be gently on you.

Hi Sue,
I’m so glad that someone seems to agree with me that sharing negative stuff on Facebook is not the way to go. I can’t stand it when people do it.
Facebook can be a depressing place at times because of that. People sharing anything between depressing to horrific on there and that’s why I’ve started to limit me browsing time there. I can’t stand it.
Never, ever did I ever shared something negative on there, because I know better. Sharing negative things don’t stop it, it actually spread it more as per the law of attraction. What we focus on multiplies. That’s why I’ve never said much about Sophie’s case for example.
Thank you for sharing the whole video, I may take a pick later if times allow.
Sue Price says
Hi Sylviane
I know you will agree with the Facebook and not sharing negative stuff on there. I am with you I do not like it at all. And yes some of it is horrific.
Kevin had a post only today on his timeline. He shared a picture that someone who is building a business put on there and then had a rant about it. The picture was a poster and said ” I am a Nillionaire – no money”. Kevin pointed out that she is highly unlikely to have anyone join her in business and what is she putting out to the Universe. I could not believe anyone could be so stupid!!!
If you get some time the video is great. He is an example of totally turning his life around very quickly with his wife too of course.
Thanks Sylviane and I get that is why you do not put about Sophie on FB 🙂
Have a great week.

Sue, Kevin sure knows what he is talking about. From the points he shared, I glimpsed an apt summary: ‘While down, think of what it means to be up’.
The subconscious is a most powerful tool, Sue…it has been my experience that it also never fails… Sincerely, I appreciate this entry.
Make the day great!
Always,
Terungwa
Sue Price says
Hi Terungwa
Kevin did a great job in the webinar. He and his wife are wonderful examples of turning their lives around by focusing on what they should in a very quick time frame.
Yes the subconscious is very powerful and we should never underestimate it.
Thanks for your comment here and you have a successful rest of your week.

Hi Sue,
Great advice, too many people spread their misery all over social media – it gets old fast. Even in hard times I either put a positive spin on it or keep it to myself. I really like your tip to “visualize before your materialize” ….
People like to follow people with a vision, it can be inspiring. I have done a lot more of surrounding myself with positive people vs the negative ones that can drag me down!
Great video – You can hear the excitement in Kevin’s voice.
Thanks for sharing all this with us Sue.
Sue Price says
Hi Lisa
Oh I am so with you with people that spread their misery on Social Media. I am like you either put a positive spin on it or do not say it.
I used to use visualization all the time and it has worked well for me. Then I stopped being regular so for me time to start that again.
Kevin in my experience is always upbeat. I am sure that played a huge part in getting him through those times. And yes vision is so important. And my next post (half written) is on that.
Thanks for your comment Lisa.

Hello Madam Sue,
I couldn’t watch the video due to poor internet connection from my end but I could clearly deduce what the story was all about through your summary outline and thing which was really on point is; visualize before you materialize.
Sue Price says
Hi Emmanuel
Oh such a pity you could not watch the video as it is truly inspirational but I am glad i summarized it well 🙂
Yes Visualizing helps us materialize – spot on.
Thanks Emmanuel for your comment.
