Being – who you want to be.
In my last post Be Do Have and Create More Success, I discussed the concept of Be Do Have. If you did not read it I suggest you do that before you continue with this one.
The concept, which is based on the Law of Attraction, says we must Be who we want to become first and then we must Do the necessary actions to Have what we want to have. But do read my last post if you have not – here.
Because most people approach life the other way I wanted to follow up with some ideas I have seen taught over the years.
How can I BE when I do not Have?
This is a question that many people ask when they are first learning this concept. Let’s have a look at some examples with Money.
Money is a big one for many people at the best of times and especially in these more challenging economic times.
Unless you grew up with parents who were wealthy and understood the Law of Attraction you probably heard things like “money doesn’t grow on trees, rich people are not happy, you don’t need money to be happy, money is the root of all evil” ……..and so on.
Clearly these sayings do not support us if they are buried in our subconscious.
Therefore I wanted to share some ideas on how to step into the vibration of of Being a wealthy person before you actually Have the amount of money you desire.
Places that Make you Feel Rich and Successful.
About 20 years ago Robert Kiyosaki and several others taught a live event called Powerful Presentations. It was about learning to present on stage powerfully and also to act and be the person you aspire to be.
I had a one on one session with a man named John who was a support teacher for the course. At the time we were in recession in Australia and our business was struggling like many other businesses at the time. I was finding it difficult in keeping my head and thoughts in a place that would support us.
John suggested I spend some time each week visiting places that make me feel successful. For me we worked out plush hotel foyers did it. So I was to go and sit and have a coffee and just be with the vibration. That worked well for me.
It might not be hotels that do it for you so identify the place or places that do make you feel fabulous and try it.
Places that make your fee l not so good
On the flip side avoid places that drain your energy. For me I have some shopping malls that I hate being in so I do not go there.
Hang out where rich people do instead. You do not have to buy anything. Just walk through and feel rich.
Other ideas from seminars
These are some other exercises that I have been exposed to over my time in managing and participating in live events.
Stretch Your Comfort Zone
1. Clothes
Go and try on some clothes that you consider too expensive. If you already buy designer clothes and have no problem with buying the best then skip this one.
For the rest of you it might be Channel, Armani, Gucci or one of those. It must be a stretch and you must try an outfit on.
Listen to your self talk even now reading this – and listen again when you do it. For me it was “oh I cannot waste someones time when I know I am not going to buy ….bla bla”.
When I shared my experience with my mentor he asked me “when else in your life do you feel you are wasting someone’s time” – ouch!
Try it and let me know how you go. Are you up for it?
2. Cars
Pick a car you think is too expensive for you and go test drive it. My self talk on this one was just the same as the other one. Hmm!
3. Jewellery
Go and try on some $50K – $100K necklaces, watches or some sort of jewellery. If you are a man in might need to be a Rolex or something or take a woman and make out you are going to buy it for her.
4. Carrying Cash
This one was to carry more cash than you would normally have on you. The suggestion here was $1000 if you normally carry little. And for people that always have $1000 on them then go for $10K.
I hear many of you already saying that you do not carry cash and that you use your Dr/Cr card.
The point with the cash is to see why you are not comfortable with it on you.
Are you afraid of getting mugged, losing it, spending it? – remember Law of Attraction. If you have this going on best to know you do so you can deal with it.
Being who you want to be – in summary
It is not always so easy to to be the person we want to be when we do not yet have the results. Money is a good example to use as it is tangible and measurable.
If you do not have the wealth you aspire to have are you willing to try some of these ideas?

What a great list of suggestions, Sue!
So many problems are caused by limiting beliefs, those nagging thoughts that tell us we’re not good enough or what makes you think you can do that.
Your list is an excellent beginning to eliminating those limiting beliefs.
Sue Price says
Hi Dick
Thanks for your feedback and glad you think the suggestions are good ones. I have seen some of these exercises work wonders for people. I think most people have some limiting beliefs.
Have a great week Dick and I appreciate your comment.

Hi Sue. I love this post. I like the idea of hanging out where wealthy people hang out and might start doing that a little more. Maybe go to a swish hotel for a coffee?
As for the shopping thing, I did go into LouisVuitton in Malaysia last year. I was in the market for a handbag, albeit not really a LouisVuitton:-) But we were passing the shop, so we went in. They unlocked and locked the doors behind us as we went in and then brought out a $30,000 handbag. It was beautiful and the work that had gone into it was amazing. I can honestly say though, that even if I had all the money in the world, I would not aspire to owning a $30,000 handbag. I guess it is a question of identifying what we personally associate with wealth and then ‘pretending’ to be part of that world. I know plenty of people who display huge wealth, but it is all on borrowed money, and I know plenty of hugely wealthy people who hide their wealth and you would never know they were wealthy.
Anyway, thanks for that post Sue. Very thought provoking and I’ll let you know how I go hanging out in that 5star lobby.

Hi Louise
Now I think you probably hang out with some pretty wealthy people in Telluride 🙂 The hotel foyer is a good one though. I love plush hotels and love people watching in them.
I hear you on the Louis Vuitton shops. I went into the one in Paris some years back. Again the security was enormous. It was right after 9/11 though so I was not sure if it was their normal or stepped up security.
I love love love handbags but like you I cannot imaging myself paying $30K for one. Then I thin well if I was a billionaire it is not much. I would be paranoid I would get is spoiled or something – hmm maybe I need to work on that one.
I also have met many people trying to look rich who do it on credit and like you people who do not display their wealth. My days in Financial Planning taught me to never judge a book by it’s cover.
I think money is something most of us have some sort of program running.
Thanks for dropping by here Louise.

Hi Sue!
What great ways to attune ourselves with wealth. As I was reading this post, I remembered that when I was in my 20’s my friend and I would go to the Plaza in NYC just to have a drink. It made us feel rich. Keep in mind, those days you needed to be dressed to the hilt to even walk in the place, but we wore our most expensive outfits and got in Phew!
Another thing that made me feel rich back then was to go to the most expensive restaurants for lunch. Of course we couldn’t afford dinner, but lunch was a stretch too. Sitting and eating different foods were another way I felt rich.
To this day, I can remember the perfume counter at Gucci’s I did walk in there to try something on once. Intimidated? Absolutely, but I pushed myself to do it just to see what it felt like.
These are things I have done in the past so I know well what you are saying and it does work. Now, with intent, I can try this stuff again. When you said to walk around with large sums of cash I immediately went to the place of “no way…I’ll get mugged” he he
But I’m up for the challenge! I will do that one this week. I am so excited to try this out. Another thing I’m going to do is to have coffee with my husband at the local Hilton Hotel. I’ve walked passed it many times and the lobby looks inviting.
So there you have it! I have written down my challenge and now I’m accountable to do so. I will let you know how good it felt.
Thanks Sue, I’m always up for a new adventure.

Hi Donna
So you were onto this at a young age with the Plaza and drinks and lunch in expensive restaurants. There you go though you would have known psychically it is good for you 🙂
Those Gucci shops and the like can be intimidating. I did these exercises a few times and it got easier and some of the top labels have a more friendly atmosphere.
Oh the large sums of cash is one that gets people really plugged in. I am with your one getting mugged, that was my instant thought. So the person teaching this one asked “where else in your life do you think people will steal from you?”. Actually I was more afraid of getting hurt physically than losing the money – but then that is another whole thins isn’t it? Whatever the thoughts are we have it is obviously good to clean them up.
Okay so I am looking forward to hearing about you carrying cash and how you felt. The coffee with David at the Hilton will be a breeze.
Thanks for your contribution Donna. See you in a couple of days.

Great suggestions Sue and I’ve always heard to go sit in the car you want and have your picture taken. I’m just now getting to the point that I’m thinking about a new car and I happen to have a luxury one in mind. I keep telling myself that I need to go and sit in one and even test drive it so I’m going to be sure and put this on my list whether I get that one or not.
I could definitely do the clothes shopping only because I need some new clothes so bad and have always wanted to try on the really expensive stuff. Just to say I have so I am not worrying about wasting anyone’s time with that one. But I do hate shopping so that will be lower on my list.
Great exercises though Sue, you’re right! Doing this and playing the prosperity game Raena is doing ought to get our minds in the right mindset.

Hi Adrienne
Great you are thinking of a luxury car. You deserve one for sure. Do go and get your picture taken and have fun doing it.
I do not like shopping either. I love clothes but hate trying on and all that. For years I had a good friend who owned a lovely little boutique ladies shop and she actually dressed me. It was so easy.
I agree the one Raena is doing is a good one too. I am sure there are many around. I just know from years of doing personal development workshops then running them most people have an unhealthy relationship with money on some level. This includes some very wealthy people.
I am looking forward to seeing a picture of you in a car on FB Adrienne 🙂
Thanks for your comment as always.
I hope you are feeling better than you were last week.

Christian says
Hey, you present a very interesting idea. But as I was reading this I thought to myself, “well damn, that ain’t me”. I would feel stupid if I ever tried expensive clothing, jewellery or test drive an expensive car just for the heck of it.
I believe how much money something cost isn’t important and I don’t see how it will help me with my business. Buying stuff I don’t need is not on my shopping list even if I had a lot of money. For example I can afford expensive clothing on a monthly basis, but that doesn’t mean I need expensive clothing on a monthly basis, nor do expensive clothing make me feel better.
Sue Price says
Hi Christian
Thanks for your sharing your thoughts on my post.
The exercise is not designed for us to go and buy things we cannot afford. It is about stretching our willingness to receive as in Law of Attraction.
Have a great week.

Sylviane Nuccio says
Hi Sue,
Excellent tips, and yes, they do work.
All such exercise, so to speak, can help us change our beliefs and put us in the right vibrations which help us attract what we are after.
As you mentioned, unless we were raised with the knowledge of the law of attraction, which most of us weren’t we are going to have some issues attracting money, so what ever helps is a good thing.
Bottom line, pretending puts us in the mood, in the situation, and it helps us tweak our beliefs.
Sue Price says
Hi Sylviane
I agree not many of us would be bought up knowing about Law of Attraction.
It is funny when I have been in a seminar where some of these assignments are being given the people who become the most resistant and say they have no problems with money are so obviously the ones who do. Not everyone is ready though.
Thanks for your feedback Sylviane given it is very much part of what you do I appreciate it.

Morning Sue. Absolutely love the suggestions to help you get in the right mindset of thinking rich. Unique ideas and a great concept to understand just to change how you think about money. I thought this was fabulous! And great job of explaining it.
I’ve already done the car thing…I love the other suggestions and uhmmm…think I’ll try ’em. 😉
Thanks for the tips!

Hi Barbara
I am glad you are going to try some of the others and you have the car one handled. Just don’t go near Wal Mart 🙂 I am curious now to go into one so I know what it is all about. I was really interested to hear Donna talk about the energy of the products. I had never given that a thought.
Thanks for your feedback on the post and yes the suggestions are good ones. Let me know which ones your do.
Glad to hear of your successful week.
Thanks for your feedback

Hi Sue,
You reminds me of some incidents 🙂 What… Now I’m a story teller? 😀 Oh no…
I did hear people saying money is the root of evil and we don’t need money to have a comfortable life. I agree there, yet we can live with what we have but I feel the negativity. Money is not a good or bad thing, but it’s the way we use it, right Sue? It’s people who are good or bad.
Once I remember my father and I went to get 100K from a bank. After all the counting, he given me the bag full of money to hold until we get to home. Gosh… He had millions of questions on the way and looks like he stole it from someone and trying to escape. Yeah, we need to be protective. But not overprotective and stress out. I felt how uncomfortable he is with the money and struggling with it.
lol 😀 I’ve been dreaming of an expensive car (In my Facebook cover photo), but not fortunate enough to test drive as we don’t have any in our country.
We attract what we want if we let it and have the right beliefs. Isn’t it Sue? 🙂 I almost feel rich for working at home. Like a BOSS 😉 lol…
Have a fantastic week dear 🙂
Cheers…
Sue Price says
Hi Mayura
You are a story teller for sure. I love it.
I agree totally money is neither good and bad it is how we use it and what it allows us to do or not.
I have heard said it ads to who we are. If we are a nasty miserable person we will become more so with more money. Not sure if it is true but I am guessing it is.
Wow I can feel you and your dad with the that much cash. That is a lot of cash and would test most people I think. Your father is not alone in being uncomfortable with money, many people are that.
I just had to go back and look at your fb page. I love the car. Wow I did not know there are no luxury cars in your country. When you become rich on the internet you can travel and drive one 🙂
Yes I do believe we do attract what we want if our beliefs are aligned to what we want.
You should feel rich working at Home Mayura. That is why we do it. It is not the money we make but the lifestyle and things it allows us to do.
Thanks for your comment Mayura I appreciate you as always.
Have a great day

Dear Sue,
Interesting post! These points are important for small business owners and entrepreneurs because they often reinvest so much of their money into their businesses. Many times they don’t pay themselves even a livable, basic salary but rather end up spending their savings to fund startup or growth. Since many of these individuals are off on their own to become financially independent and wealthy, they need something to keep them going! I will certainly suggest these ideas to clients.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Mike
Thanks for your feedback. I agree with you for sure having worked as a CPA for many years it is so common for business owners not to pay themselves much at all. I have started several businesses now and been the same at least in the start up phase.
These exercises are very helpful so I hope some of your clients benefit.
Thanks again for your comment Mike and have a great week.

Hello Sue, glad to read this article. It just helped me to establish a bit my point of view regarding this matter.
I would say that there is a big difference between wanting and having. This big difference is doing. You have to establish some “doable” milestones. I’m not suggesting 1 million $$ in three months. I’m not saying is not possible but the chances are slim.
I find myself on a ledge at the moment as i’ve done everything in my power to prepare for a job, got my basic + advanced training, more than 1 year of apprenticeship with good refferences and i even got written promotion. After i got my final exams and i was ready to join full time they simply said…ups sorry we have nothing available for you. I’m not saying that is the end of the world but it’s a rock in the head.
I already start to look in another company but the point is you have to work hard for what you want and dreaming about it will not help you.
Sue Price says
Hi Radu
Sorry to hear about your recent experience with your your job. I am sure there is something better out there you are going to find. Sometimes when we miss out n something it is because there is something better for us.
Stay confident, positive and put in the actions of looking for what you want. As you said you have to establish some “doable” milestones.
Thanks for your comment Radu and all the best with finding what is right for you.

Hi Sue,
Great to see that you are focusing on helping others to BE where they’d like to be. “How can I BE when I do not Have?” is such a quality question to ask! There are numerous leaders out there sharing that it all started with the mindset. A Prosperity Mindset, knowing that being poor is only a temporary state. We must totally accept this fact – that the past (broke or rich) has no relevance in our wealth creation journey. What matters is NOW – the mindset, the plan, the actions.
Awesome practical examples that you suggested to make us feel great! Thanks!!
Personally, I find it most helping to be around great leaders! Leaders encourage us, challenge us and stretch us. That is when I feel supported.
I appreciate your insights, Sue!

Hi Viola
That is a great question. How can I BE when I do not HAVE? I have heard it asked so many times. Having worked with Robert Kiyosaki for so many years I have witnessed people really struggling with it.
I so agree with you regarding the fact that our past has no relevance and that our mindset is so important. We all hear rags to riches stories all the times. I am sure those people never thought of themselves as poor for the rest of their lives more likely just temporarily “broke”.
I too feel good to be around great leaders. If ever I am feeling a bit flat watching inspirational videos or listening to audios always gets me back.
Thanks for your comment Viola, I appreciate it as always.
Hope you have had a nice weekend.

Hi Sue 🙂
Yes, it’s really important to perform actions that make us feel rich and successful. It’s even more powerful than positive affirmations because it involves our 5 senses. These immersive experiences are the best way to reprogram our subconscious mind.
Sue Price says
Hi Shanna
I agree with you that these experiences are better than affirmations. I know at times in my past I have chanted affirmations while feeling the exact opposite so clearly that is not going to work! Thanks for pointing out that these bring in our 5 senses. I had not thought of it quite like that before so thanks 🙂
Have a wonderful week Shanna
