Do you believe that you are here on planet earth to be the best version of you? I believe I am here to be the best version of me.
Too often in life we become lost and we strive to be like other people. We compare ourselves and often make ourselves “less than”. That is not what it is all about. You are unique and so am I. We are not meant to be an imitation of someone else.
In my last post How To Learn From Your Life Lessons I talked about how we grow as human beings when we learn from the lessons life presents to us. That is a part of how to be the best version of you. There are other things we can do to grow and be the best we can be.
How to be the best version of you
I wrote on this topic back in January. In fact I had three posts on the topic (clearly I am passionate about it 🙂 ). You can read them here:
- How To Be The Best Version Of You
- How to be the Best Version Of You : Part 2
- How To Be the Best Version of You – Part 3
These posts offered some of the ways you can be the best version of you. I referred to our belief system and how we see ourselves, knowing we are “enough”, being joyful, resourceful and proactive.
Sometimes though we do not know how to go about being joyful. If we have low self esteem how do we raise it? Where do we start? Let’s have a look at ways you can start moving towards being the best version of yourself.
How to be the best version of you
Read books
One of the easiest ways to start is by reading. Book stores have self help sections where you can find a myriad of books. Over the last 30+ years I have read many books on how to become a better me.
Here are some of my favorite books…
- Anything by Wayne Dyer
- A Return To Love – Marianne Williamson
- A Woman’s Worth – Marianne Williamson
- Conversations with God (the series) – Neale Donald Walsh
- Think and Grow Rich – Napoleon Hill
- Rich Dad Poor Dad and The Cashflow Quadrant – Robert Kiyosaki
- The 4 Hour Work Week – Timothy Ferris
- Influence The Psychology of Persuasion – Robert B. Cialdini
- The Law of Attraction – Esther and Jerry Hicks
- E Squarred – Pam Grout
- A New Earth – Eckhart Tolle
I am sure I have missed some books that influenced me but these were some of my favorites.
Listen to audios
Most authors have a range of audios you can listen to including their books in an audio version. This offers a great alternative for people who have a long commute to work or spend much time in their car. I know lots of people who listen to audio books while they jog or walk.
Videos
You tube is full of them and they are free. You can watch Wayne Dyer, Tony Robbins and many others through video.
Seminars/ courses and workshops
I attended my first personal development course many years ago. Since then I have attended many more. It is one of the quickest ways to get a break through in our life.
One on one sessions
There are many people who can help you on your journey towards the goal to be the best version of you. They include life coaches, therapists, NLP practitioners, hypnotists, spiritual healers, kinesiologists and many others.
One on one sessions with a practitioner who is right for you can be the fastest way to achieve personal growth.
In summary
One way of being more open and able to see the lesson in things that happen in our lives is to embark on personal development.
Growing as a person never stops. It is part of why we are here, to become the best version of ourselves.
Please let me know if you have any other suggestions on how to be the best version of you.
Have an amazing day!
Namaste

Hey Sue,
In every person, there is something sparking which is yet to be discovered.
Though I don’t really like reading books but still I read novels sometimes. To listen the audio and watching videos is a good idea.
Thanks for this article.
Have a great day.

Hi Ravi,
I agree with you that everyone has something that needs to be discovered. I think listening to audio has just as much benefit as reading books as it depends how we prefer to learn.
Thanks for your comment here Ravi.
You too have a great day.

I was never a book reader until a year ago when I started personal development.
Books never held my interest.
I still have to force myself to sit down and read but when I do, books like you’ve mentioned completely hold my interest.
Thanks for the list of some of your favorites.

Not everyone is a reader Beth, although it sounds like you are good with these types of books. I know many people who prefer the audio version. Thanks for your comment.
Have a wonderful day.

You had me at… ‘Anything by Wayne Dyer’. 🙂
A really valuable share here Sue, thank you so much.

I started to list Wayne Dyer’s books Shaun then thought that comment covered them all. I think I have read them all. Thanks for your comment.

Great post Sue. That book list is amazing, for me The Millionaire Messenger is the best book I have ever read and it helped me realise my potential. As a coach to women over 40 trying to find their mojo and sparkle during the peri menopause and struggling with menopause symptoms I feel it is essential to help people to be the best versions of themselves. Competing with others is useless, we are all individuals and we all have our own special talents. Your post is a great resource for people to realise this. Thanks for sharing.

Great you have gotten so much from The Millionaire Messenger Angie and it sounds like it is really helping you with clarity. Well done! I have read it a couple of times. There are so many books that can help us in different ways. Thanks for your comment and have an awesome day Angie.

Love this post Sue!
Learning how to be the best version of you is the most amazing gift you can give to yourself, as well as to those closest to you.
Looks like a pretty powerful list of books to read there, a few which of which I have read but it looks like I have a good few list to add to my “powerful books to read” list.
I loved when you said, “Growing as a person never stops. It is part of why we are here, to become the best version of ourselves.” Powerful message 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
