There are many ways to be happy and I will share 12 of them here that are simple and will get you fast results.
I believe everything we do in our lives is in the pursuit of happiness. Whether we want business success, great relationships, more money or to travel it is because we believe it will make us happy.
Behind every goal we have is a belief that it will bring us more happiness.
Here is the kicker – happiness is a choice. It is not “things” that make us happy. Far too many people are living a life they do not enjoy with the belief it will take them to happiness later.
We all need to choose happiness now.

I remember the first time I heard that song the truth of it hit me hard. It is the way most people live.
Here are 12 ways to be happy right now
#1 – Be Grateful
It is not possible to feel gratitude and anger, fear or any other negative thought at the same time.
Feeling grateful for what we have not only results in us attracting more blessing into our lives, it also makes us happier and more giving as a human being.

#2 – Get out into nature.
Whether we walk along the beach or through a park it does not matter. Get out and take in the beauty of nature. Watch the birds, the clouds moving, the waves lapping, the sun rising or setting. Take it in and you will feel invigorated.
#3 -Move – do some exercise that you enjoy.
It might be going for a walk, a swim, riding a bicycle, doing yoga – whatever you enjoy do it.
#4 – Think of yourself less and others more.
Do random acts of kindness for others. As an example my husband loves to help older people with their shopping trolleys. It does not have to be a huge thing. It is hard to feel sorry for yourself when you are helping someone else.
# 5 – Read something uplifting.
There are so many books available to us now. If I am feeling a little flat I often pick up a book and open it up to where it lands. There is always a message for me when I do this.
#6 – Listen to an audio
Just like books there are so many audios we can listen to that are uplifting. There are many podcasts and great YouTube videos available to us for free.

#7 – Meditate
Meditation – going within, helps us be calm and centered. It relieve stress and we feel better and happier. I know I am much kinder to myself when I meditate regularly.
#8 – Affirmations
Say daily affirmations on happiness. For example “For me, the future is always bright and happy. I look at only the bright side of things.” Or “Being happy comes easy to me. Happiness is my second nature.”
#9 – Play with an animal
Pets are great to make us smile and feel happy. Dogs especially love us unconditionally. There has been much research that shows people who have pets are happier.
#10 – Treat yourself
It can be something simple like buying something you love to eat, or have your hair done, a massage or whatever it is that you enjoy.
#11 – Just laugh
Laugh or smile at nothing. If you stand up and start to laugh it will not be long before you feel happier. Smile at people as you pass them in the street. You never know who may need a smile today.
#12 – Choose to be happy.
I could have listed 50 ways to be happy but at the end of the day it is a choice. Simply choose to be happy. You can do that right now. It is your choice.

I think that quote by Abraham Lincoln sums up my message nicely. There are many ways to be happy and the choice is yours.
